Opthimus 25-Year

Smell: sweetness, caramel, intense dried fruit (plum), barrel (whisky).
Taste: caramel, spice, fruits, oak, slight bitterness, nice and mild. Nice aftertaste (sherry), it's typical for Oliver and Oliver.
There are some other rums that are similar. This is still nice and round.

Nose, eyes and mouth! A pleasure for them all. Well balanced with a sweet and smooth body.

Good aroma and color, but kind of sweet rum. Zafra and Zacapa 23 my favorites still. not complex and with the price and 25 years old I was expecting something more impressive.

Some light toffee notes and tobacco leaf on the nose. Starts off with a good mouth feel that is robust in a complex array of flavors, but quickly dissipates with an alcohol, almost medicinal finish.

Paid $83 US. Neat: nose is light leather/tobacco with vanilla cooked maple. I’m fighting the sweet dry battle. This is a good sweet because it has notes walking it back. Can’t imagine many who like sweet complexity not having a bottle in their cabinet.

After some time truly great drink! Ain't cheep, ain't bad, ain't normal. You have to had developed some fine rum taste buds to truly enjoy this rum without any additional sugars or caramel.
Honestly, can't wait to have this one again.
(It can remind someone a taste of fine cognac XO rarity or even older.) Very smooth, very soft, very gentle. You will love every single drop of this life elixir (:
