Day 17 of my Rum Advent calendar. This rum smells really good (vanilla and caramel) but is too sweet for my liking.

Skvělý jemný rum, pokud máte rádi jemné sladší (nikoliv však sladké) rumy, už 12y za to stojí. Ostatní vyšší kategorie (resp. starší - 15y, XO, Cask) jsou ještě lepší, což nebývá vždy pravidlem.

Schöner Einsteiger Rum.
Nichts zu komplexes. Würzig, Fruchtig, minimale Süße im Abgang.
Auch günstiger Preis.

The nose is not very intensive but quite natural. I got some molasses flavor.
The taste is less sweet than at the XO. With some pepper. The balance is not bad. Quite interesting rum.
Smell: molasses, caramel, oak, dry fruits, wood, some pepper, vanilla
Taste: caramel, mandarine, burned sugar, some pepper
Spice: spice, burned sugar, mandarine
Sweetness: 3/5
Fruits: 2.5/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Mildness: 3/5
Complexity: 2.5/5

If you go for the Esclavo 15y or above you’ll get very good and tasteful rums. This is perhaps okay as an introduction to the brand?

I love rums of this kind..just rum with a little bit sweet in taste and very smooth..That is the way i like it.

Původ: Dominikánská republika
Aroma: Příjemná vůně, středně plná a výrazná, klasicky rumová. Mléčná čokoláda, broušená kůže, rozinky, trochu větrová, nasládlá. (85 b)
Chuť: Chuť za vůní o dost zaostává. Dost suchá, s vanilkou, rumovými pralinkami a těžším dřevem. Alkohol je tu ještě ne úplně zkrocený. (81 b)
Shrnutí: Další ze značek patřících pod křídla rodinné firmy Oliver & Oliver. Základní rum, zrající metodou solera v sudech z amerického dubu. Dostali jsme s kamarádem k nákupu z dobrutka.eu 50ml miniaturu zdarma. Zároveň jsem si koupil ze stejné stáje Ron Esclavo XO, takže v dohledné době ochutnám i ten a vy se můžete těšit na recenzi.
