Part of the 2021 24 days of Rums calendar. Eager to share my experience!
Nice rum, good flavors, has a bit of a smokey aspect to it which I didn't love. With an ice cube its quite nice. Definitely worth buying again but would not be my first choice.
Great sipping rum for a long night of discussions and talks. It has a little darkness to it that surprises you after the first sipp. Great rum
It's really good. Definitely tastes like the Abuelo family Panamanian rum. A little too sweet but manageable. This could be GREAT if bottled at a higher proof. It's all body, no bite. At $48 I may not buy this again. The Abuelo 7 is the greatest bang for the buck.
Tenhle rum od Abuelo ja na me trosku sussi a drevity, proste ze dvou druhu dubovych sudu
what a nice balanced tone and taste in this one. Sweet without turning it into a liquor, Smoke in the smell and taste to add to the layered and aged taste. Very nicely done.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

9:On the nose, the influence of American oak predominates. It does so beautifully, with soft wood, vanilla, blond tobacco, toasted coconut and a certain sweetness that enriches these aromas.
Aeration gives the rum a slightly more conquering side, which then brings out the pepper and smoke. The tobacco is a little browner, and the cane molasses brandy shows a fine concentration, even if the roundness is still palpable.
9:On the palate, the rum is terribly tasty. Once again, it's the American oak that does most of the work, and we've really made the most of its qualities. With a light smoky attack, the aromas of vanilla, red fruits, coconut, oily wood and tobacco are truly thick and delicious.
8,7:The finish maintains this greediness with a certain sweet roundness.
