Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Yet good for a mix although with a cube of ice its also a good pair with a medium cigar

Rum, který snad ochutnal každý. Ovocný, medový, s nekonečnou vůní vanilky, která zůstává po mnoho dalších minut po vypití. Už po otevření lahve vás vanilka doslova praští do nosu.
This very much reminds me of Pyrat rum. Very strong citrus-like notes. Somewhat smooth with a little burn in the finish. It’s alright but not something I would keep on hand.
It's sweet. No beating around the bush with it, it must be heavily dosed to reach the general public so consider that before getting a bottle. Does this make it a bad rum? Maybe, depends what you're after... the Foursquare ECS mafia will hate it, those who are looking for something sweet and very easy to drink will probably like it a lot.
For me, not likely to get a bottle unless it goes on sale and I feel the need to provide something that non-rum drinkers will like.
To sweet but easy to drink! I would drink it once in awhile..

Der Rum ist geruchlich ein Wahnsinn und erinnert mich stark an frischen Kuchenteig aus Kindheitstagen: aufgeschlagene Eier, Vanillezucker, Rum und Zitronenzesten. Und der Geschmack - sehr süß und schmeckt wie er riecht. Durchaus ein Erlebnis, jedoch nichts für jeden Tag und auch nur in dezenter Dosierung.
