Not work for me.
Tons of sugar and tasty like a young distillate flavor.
I do not recommend.
This sweety vanilla soup is horrible. So dissapointed in this rum. Tastes like toothpaste with a strong mint and vanilla flavour. Smells the same.
I was pretty much surprised how good is this rum. Actually it is nice for sipping and mixing too. It's not very complex or special taste but it's nice simple and straight drink. Considering the price it is one of best rums considering value/satisfaction ratio.
All the hype with very little on delivery. I found the rum to be sweet with vanilla and spice flavors. I was disappointed however it is a good rum to serve when entertaining.
Nice smmoth rum. Perfectvfor sipping neet. Vanilla notes.
Ok this rum is what it is and I think the flavor is very nice and enjoyable. The ole Captain won Lots of Vanilla, sweet and very enjoyable. The Private Stock would be served well on ice cream. I served this at a blind rum tasting of around 25 rums. Now given that only a few guys know anything about rum everyone consistently gave it a 8-9 out of 10. I scored it a 7 but it is a good 7.5. Excellent priced tasty rum.. Can go as a high end Rum and Coke if yur shy with neat..
Sugar: 45- 50 gpl. Not much to say about this but if you read the label you will see that there is a lot of sugar added to this rum to where it is close to being a desert rum. It's got a bit of vanilla and caramel and spice in it and overall I would say that it's agreeable to those that don't like rum without cola. Don't mix this with anything sweet. I suggest that you put it on ice, or on ice cream. It's a good value rum, but I like a little or a lot more taste.
I did find out that the bottled I bought in USA was produced in Puerto Rico and the bottle bought on Island was produced somewhere else! the taste was also different and I prefer the USA variant.
Captain Morgan trying to break into the upper end of the market. Good , just not great.
Captain Morgan was actually a 17th century Welsh pirate...

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

OK, to be clear, I mix my rums with Diet Dr. Pepper. With this rum, I use two shot glasses mixed with one 12-oz. can. Try to avoid 2-liters of soda since they just don't taste the same as cans (seriously). The flavor of this rum is very vanilla, but in a good-good way. So much so, that you can drink several mixed drinks without ever getting tired of it in one evening. I would rate the flavor as not complex, smooth, and the same flavor from beginning to the end of your drink. VANILLA !!! Simply a top line mixer, but not a complex WOW experience.
