Zafra Master Reserve 21

Aged rum that is super smooth and complex. Hints of oak and a touch of vanilla. Brilliant on the rocks.

Great on the rocks. Easy to notice the variety of flavors. Dont let the color persuade you, I did not sense any deep oaks or smoke. Does not stand out if mixed with soda or juice. Enjoy as is.

this bottle was brought to me from a friend, it was so good and smoot but also too sweet,
i m sure it have sugar added but i can t find how much (hydrometer test)
so a 6 is very high rated if we take that is dosed ...
january 02 2024: found a bottle of this rum in my country and im very disappointed, the abv is just 40%, aroma tells me nothing and in mouth i feel only added sweetness so ...
if my previous rating based on memories was 6, now i have to lower to 3 (that is for all products with sugar or ? additives added after distillation)
i really don t understand why so many people rate so high stuff that is full of additives, those are not distillates, maybe some kind of liquors !
this rum is not cheap but in my opinion it not deserve my cash or my attention, don t want to offend people that gave to this 8, 9 or more but really ...
i have unopened bottle of Zafra 30 that im 99% sure it will be another flop ... will open it in march and post my rating here ...

Beautiful dark amber color. Slight burn at first that mellows into a wonderful and complex symphony of flavors. Very smooth and light finish. After trying the 21yr, I’m very much looking forward to tasting the 30yr

Extremely nice taste, goes down smooth, and leaves you wanting more!

Great stuff for the price $45 at my local liquor store. Nose is sharp with molasses and banana with some woody notes. Mouth feel is good. I get hints of vanilla with some fruit and oak on the finish. The bottle is attractive also.. Not my favorite rum but it's hard to go wrong with it. It's great neat or on the rocks.

I’m working through my second bottle. A very smooth sipper that gets better as a cube of ice slowly melts.

The long aging of 21 years gives this Zafra rum a deep richness and complexity. There's a good inherent sweetness to it, unlike several aged rums with added sugar. It has a nice aroma and full taste which out classes almost all that i've bought. If you haven't tried this Zafra please make sure you do, i doubt you can buy a nicer rum than this one for the same price or less.
