This is a good rum but, it is too Bourbon-y for me with big oaky wood notes...
There is unfortunately, a huge trend in finishing a lot of different kinds of liquor in Bourbon barrels... I do not understand this because, I think it ruins a lot of liquor...
I would recommend this rum to just about everybody. This is, of course, both a good and bad thing. It's incredibly well made but it has no character. It's just a bloody well made rum!
Nose: caramel, wood and dry fruits.
Palate: tropical fruits meet wood, but very round and smooth with a long finish.
A slight sweetness with chocolatey notes are also present.
For me, one of my favorite rums to sip for any occasion.
For 48€ definitely a great rum, also suitable for beginners who like wood notes and a light sweetness.
Very good rum by all standards, but just lacking a bit in complexity. Not cloying sweet or too dry, lacking in body but super easy drinking.
Unlike many other Spanish style Ron's this one is surprisingly dry. And its only purpose to please the drinker without challenging him. With it's price of about 50EUR for 70cl it perfectly qualifies as random good times rum without being sorry moneywise. Unless you are within the top of those 0,01 % rum snobs who won't appreciate diluted rums you can't be disappointed.
After I read a lot of positive reviews about this rum, I decided to buy it for 70 EUR. Honestly, I my expectations were high. Unfortunately, this ordinary rum haven't met my expectations at all. It has nothing to do with a good rum. It's very simple from perspective of taste, easily comparable to some 8 yo rum. Huge disappointment. Never ever again.
Rum zraje systémem soleda v sudech po bourbonu. Na výsledný blend dohlíží master Ronero - Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez.
Aroma: Skořice, vanilka, sušené ovoce (rozinky), kůže, jemná zemitost.
Chuť: Skořice, mléčná čokoláda, hřebíček, karamel
Dozvuk: Vanilka s mléčnou čokoládou, spousta rozinek, sušených fíků a švestek.
Sladkost: 2/3
Ochutnán vzorek
Klasicky pohodová Panama s nepřehnanou sladkostí. V rumu je opravdu výrazně cítit sušené ovoce (naslepo jsem porto finiš).
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is the perfect rum for those bourbon and/or scotch drinkers who don't want to be bombarded with the overt sweetness and sugar of some rums such as Diplomatico Reserva and Zaya. Don't get me wrong, it still has a lot sweetness but it's muted by the bourbon barrel aging and goes down very easily. I'm really enjoying this at the moment as my nightly sipper.
