Bitte selbst probieren........

I will do a cross tasting with SVW 1996, ElD Skeldon 2000 and Enmore 1996.
4368 bottles of the Skeldon marque and 4500 of the Albion were release.

Compared to the Diamond SVW nose, it’s not that intensive and shaped, but also elegant. Could be related to the SVW 1996 in the nose but has also many differences in the taste.
It’s also very similar to the Skeldon. I couldn’t name a difference in a blind tasting. It’s also a little bit musty at the beginning.
I get caramel, honey, dry fruits (raisins), orange zest, herbs and earthy barrel first (the earth disappers after 45min).
Then wood aroma is also the one from a wooden still, a typical Enmore wood.

I get also a hint of amarena cherries.
It goes in the direction of the SVW. But it’s not that flowery and not that complex.

First you get some bitter tannins. But after some sips you get used to it. The initial taste is a little bit short because this rum is very viscous. It gets warm in the mouth very fast but therefore the body is richer. I get caramel, wood, tannins, orange zest and herbs in the initial taste. In comparison to the Skeldon I get not much dry fruits here and I get the tannins earlier.
In the middle I get bitter oranges, herbs, wood and the orange zest. Then some more intensive notes of some anise and wood varnish. I didn't get any flowery notes here like in the Skeldon.
The finish starts with spice, then honey, wood varnish, some grains and orange zest
.
A mix of sweet mellow notes and heavy aromas.
The aftertaste is quite nice, but not exceptional. Demerara wood, honey, dry fruits and orange zest.
I didn't get any flowery notes or I missed them.

This rum is a little bit different to the Skeldon, but has also many similarities. It’s a different rum compared SVW 1996. I could compare the nose, but the taste is different.
The SVW is more shaped with more heavy aromas and is also more complex.
It's not complex enough between the best Demeraras. I would rate that one with 91 points.

Nose: caramel**, honey**, dry fruits (raisins)**, orange zest**, earth/barrel**, herbs**, grape seeds*, some flowery notes*
Taste initial: caramel, wood, tannins, orange zest, herbs

Middle: bitter orange, herbs, wood, orange zest, some anise, wood varnish

Finish: spice, honey, wood varnish, some grains, orange zest

Aftertate: wood, honey, dry fruits, orange zest

Sweetness: 2.5/5
Fruits: 3/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Value (210€): 3.5/5

Sorry El Dorado was soll das ?

Another throw of the El Dorado Rare Collection. Since no equipment of the 1968 closed Albion distillery is available, this Albion was "imitated" in the DDL.
Rich mahogany in the glass. For 14 years very intense, therefore I suspect dyes, too bad for a rum in this price range.
In the nose phenomenal, caramel, wood, spices, really deep and dark. I want a sip !
In the palate nothing with deep and dark but rather sticky caramel. Sorry El Dorado what is this ? Are you serious ? Sugar in a Rare Collection ? Is for me only limited comprehensible, a dessert rum ok. but this is another league.
In the finish very short and a little of nothing.
In the empty glass remains a cloudy film like black tea with milk. I've never seen a rum like this before.
For sweet rum lovers certainly not bad, but certainly not worth the price. Sorry Magüs.

Vůně: Lehce lepidlo, pryskyřice, dřevitá, sladká, příjemná, lákavá
Chuť: Síla, nasládlá, čokoládová, peckovitá, ovocná, pomeranč, medicinální, jód, byliny
Dochuť: Dřevitá, sladší, rozinky, bourbon.
Dřevo příjemně dominuje.
9,4/10

Best demerara I've had. Super heavy caramel, complexity, toast, oak, molasses. Perfect

This Demerara Rum from the El-Dorado Rare Collection is from 2004 and was made in the Diamond Distillery in the single column style. It bears the title Albion because it was probably modeled after the style of the former distillery. After 14 years of tropical aging in bourbon casks, the rum was bottled at a cask strength of 60.1% alcohol.

The rum has an absolutely fantastic nose. Candied tropic fruit with a good dose of coconut, chocolate, roasted aromas, a little leather and old wood, some nuts and burnt sugar. The whole thing is creamy, tasty and heavy. Simply great and seductive. The rum is more direct on the palate. More spice is coming. Roasted aromas, vanilla, candied fruit, chocolate with a hint of mocha and a good portion of wood. Strong and full-bodied, the alcohol is very well integrated. Towards the end, the rum becomes increasingly spicy with old wood, bitter substances, dark chocolate and is slightly astringent.

An excellent rum, where I clearly notice the tropical maturation. 14 years in the barrel are enough for a lot of oak influence. The nose is just wonderful. I like it a little better than the SWR from El Dorado because it's less mocha. All in all a great rum, only the finish could offer a little more and the price deters a purchase, although we are talking about a completely tropical storage. If you have some money to spend, you can't go wrong here.

Dozvuk: Skořice, opálené dřevo, hořká čokoláda, třešně a sušené meruňky. Dlouhý.
Sladkost: 0/3
Ochutnán vzorek
Vynikající! Velmi připomíná styl rumů z Belize vylepšený však lehkou nakouřeností. I přes vysokou cenu zvažuji lahev.

One of the best I tried so far. Chocolate, caramell, wood, fruits, roasted notes - love it. Very close to the El Dorado Skeldon.
