Bacardi Gold rum

Bacardi Gold

United States | Gold | 40% ABV

Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.

Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

Very ordinary rum, nothing to lust for. Best used with mixers and fruit juices. Definitely not a choice for straight up.

nice rum to mix with cola but not quite as refined as Havana 3 year old

Nothing special, comes with the traditional "tasty" bacardi flavour, however, he performs a bit better for me in cocktails than the Bacardi Superior

Easily consumable in a bind - yep, this is true. Too harsh to drink it without somethings

Good mixer where gold rum is to apply

A little bit of harsh nose. Alcohol forward at first with a little burn, no unpleasant but it mixes well in Tiki drinks.

Did not get the feeling that it way a top shelf rum. Ok to use as a mixer but not for a sipper. The color is good but has a little bit. I will not keep it on hand for my guests.

Mix with coke for the Cuba Libre. Try it in a Mai Tai, maybe float some 151 if you need more kick.

My first Bacardi bottle. I remember reaching the bottom with my cousin and saying "damn maybe we should have gotten a bigger bottle. With Coke it wasn't bad but it wasn't great.
