El Dorado 21 is produced near the equator in Guyana by Demerara distillery. The final product is a blend of rums, aged between 21 and 25 years and crafted using 100% locally sourced Demerara sugar. Traditional tools are used in the distilling processes including three unique wooden stills. The rums rest until maturity in 45 gallon oak casks.

As good as it gets, enjoy! Not overly sweet which is so good
An excellent rum with lots of flavour and very smooth going down. In the top 5% of all rums.
Tasty, well rounded, However there are many better rums.
This rum was given to me for Christmas by one of my rum buddies. I was shocked when I first tasted it. It has a harsh old wood taste like Scotch. I hate Scotch! Compared to the Zacapa XO I would give this a 6 as it is not smooth for my taste. However, in all fairness, I had some Scotch drinking friends try it and they loved it and would give it a "9". However, they would also prefer my Zacapa XO. It could be the difference between being a Scotch or Cognac drinker. Let the buyer be aware.
Guyana makes one of the best rums in the world, El Dorado is a great ambassador and their 21 years old rum is superb! Oak, leather and rip bananas hints with caramel.
I drank this like 3 years ago and back than I was a real rum noobie (well, kinda still is). I haven't drank too many different rums back than, just really loved the 12 and 15 years old El Dorados, so naturally I wanted to try the 21 year old as well. What I can remember it was a bit disappointing after the two younger ones, it felt more edgier, not that smooth and maybe just too heavy sort so say. Now, after I tried at least a wider palette of different rums I maybe want to go back to this one and give another try, causer I believe this is a more complex rum that you need some maturity to really enjoy.
A little bit subdued nose, but aroma's of honey, vanilla toast and brown sugar can be found.
A little bit too alcoholic in the mouth with an aroma that makes me think of cognac. Also aroma's of toast, caramel, chocolate and a smoky touch with a very long finish.
A very well balanced rum
After tasting and got my mind blown by El Dorado 15 years, i tried this one. It is a littlbe bit sweet for my taste, but excellent rum in general for it's class. For sure you have to try it at least once!!
'spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar'

There is an extra layer of oak in the profile.
"Notes of oak and a slight spiciness also comes through. The rum is very smooth and easy drinking but complex enough to ensure you savour each sip of the drink. The finish is long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
