Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

Even though, I am rather fan of dryer rums, this one just got me. Slight sweet taste with little touch of figs and raisins. Perfect without adding ice for evening chill. Recommended!

Interesting Tones of redwine, rich and full nose of vanilla, sweets. Smoothie tast whit long aftertaste and differtent variations.

There is just something about this rum that doesnโt work for me. I have had it open for many years and even when tasted blind, I just donโt care for it.

A sweet slightly honey smell is followed by a sweet cherry chocolate taste.
Afterwards you'll feel a hint of oak and coconut to round up the experience.
If you enjoy sweeter, rounder rums, this is your price/performance rum!

Nice an smooth. Easy to drink with some minor hints of sherry. Nice to sip.

Beautiful mahogany color with fruity , grapes, figs . The sherry is very present and gives a nice structure to rum. Finally, it includes the Aging working in sherry and this double (triple) aging initiated with the little brother 5+3. The taste is long and delicate. Wonderful discovery and hopefully soon confirm a 9 or 10 with luxus
