Had this after having the Bacardi oak heart and this was horrible in comparison. I am not a real spiced rum fan and this did not help
Found this at a local national liquor store here in s.w. florida. A 1.75 was on sale for $17.70! being it was on my wish list I gave it a try. I was not at all disappointed, I was very happy for the price! The flavor is outstanding, I like the "sweet" taste I feel this rum has. I tried my normal Neat tasting and although a bit stronger than I would normally like straight, it has a good smooth flavor and can be drank neat. I did my normal on the rocks, in a tall glass ( which at my house is a huge tervis!) with Coke. I love the bottle and the flavors which I am having a hard time figuring how to explain in my amateur tongue. I think it has a good amount of vanilla, as most sweet spiced rums have. I feel it also has some citrus flavor as well. Anyhow, for the price you will not ever be disappointed.
Like most of the Cruzan family, this is a good rum with a great price. Its not great, but very solid. The vanilla and cinnamon make it ok to drink on the rocks, but it shines in a coke zero.
Very delicious when used as a mixer, surprisingly tasty with cola. Does feel slightly overspiced.
Affordable sipping rum. Cinnamon and Vanilla come seem to be the more dominant flavors with a peppery aftertaste. Good for on the rocks as well as with cola.
Value for money is 10/10.
Sipping it neat, it is a little strong, but has good flavors. I will probably buy more of this.
Most Cruzan rums are just delightful and this is no exception. The 9 Spiced Rum is a bright, fruity rum that goes well in either cocktails or with soda. Very smooth and yummy. :)
Affordable easy to drink, light, smooth.....
Going to keep this one brief and simple.
I enjoy the rum. Slight creamy feel on the palate, but very approachable.
Nice hints of vanilla, and allspice up front. Leads to cinnamon on the back palate. What I love about this rum is the slight gin like feel I get. There is a hint of juniper I get while I sip it neat or with rocks.
I recommend it for any spiced rum lover just getting into rum.
I really like this rum as compared to Captain. I find it much smoother without being as syrupy. I'm not a big fan of spiced rum but this is the one I'd chose if I had to pick one.
In a bind, this will do for mixers.
Not just another spiced rum. Nice strong spice flavor
Not a bad spiced rum to have with cola. Not one of my favorites, but a lot better than most.
But that's not saying much, fakey vanilla and spices make this go fairly well in coke but not something I would sip. I got a couple bottles for under $5 with a rebate a couple years ago and honestly don't know if I would buy again at that price, unless Foursquare and Brinley's Gold shipwreck suddenly became unavailable. Even then I would probably just buy Sailor jerry.
