Very corpolent and powerfull rum. Smells magnifique, medium aftertaste. Classic jamaican rum.

Overall this is a very well balanced rum. The nose is quite enjoyable and goes down smoothly. I like it being at 43% ABV since it adds a little more spice to it. For $30 in my area it's a great value rum.

A nice classic Jamaican. Not too sweet and with a fine taste.

Finale : long, notes de réglisse.
Un peu sucré (caramel?), cet appleton estate 12 ans est très recommandable.

The aroma is strong: berry jam. Classic dry taste, 43% burns seriously. It gives warmth and strength. Heavy within normal limits. The effect of confidence, calm.
Awesome tuba.

Follows the trajectory set by the Signature (V/X) and Reserve. Very smooth, and rich with caramel and oak. Being a blended rum, there is subtle pot-still influence—not unlike Bajans like Real McCoy and Mt. Gay XO. The 43% is nice, though it could be higher.

I think this rum is very good, and a great value, making it a superb “everyday” sipper or high-end mixer. However, I think there’s more potential here—it’s just not very exciting.

I haven't try previous version of this rum so I have not to compare but this one is very good. I am big fan of english-style rums and especialy jamaican ones. I liked their VX/signature blend but they are good only for mixing. They are was too rough and hasn't fit to drink neat. This Rare Blend is better. It's not too harsh but it could keep its jamaocan nature hidden in the woods.

I like this rhum very much. I try this one in Bar'H Chic located in Policoro, Italy. With a toscan cigar, vert good experience.
