Dark color with Notes of Vanilla rich in flavor very smooth
I was given a bottle of this by my in laws when they returned from a cruise. As a fan of kraken and other dark spiced rums I was impressed, it was easy drinking not as harsh as i was expecting and went down a treat. Bit hard to find in the uk though not many people stock it.
Good dark rum. More of a burn at the end than I expected, being oak barrel aged. Alot of oak notes and clove.
If you are looking for something slightly different than normal capt. this is it. Did not try straight, but mixed with coke.
A spicy rum, smooth. I enjoyed it. A good rum poolside!
Bought this ON SALE last August ...it is now ..March.....finally opened it .....MMMMMMMMMM...what a VANILLA hit on the front ....WOW !!!
If you like rum from Captain Morgan ....do yourself a favour and buy it ...
Very very sweet. Nice for mixing and give a nice smooth and round finish to R&C. Flavorfull but not refined.
This is a rum beginners guide to the universe...smooth, full of flavor and not overpowering...something to be used to break a person into the world of rum drinking.
If you love Kraken, but can't get it at your local store, see if you can find the Captain Morgan Black. It's full-flavored, dark, with a little bit of a bite. Not as smooth and well-rounded as Kraken, but still very good.
"vanilla flavour is there but is mixed with a little Black Cherry and caramel"

"rich clove spice and premium cassia bark"

There is a little hint of clove and nutmeg present on the nose as well but predominantly it is sweet vanilla. .
"This is a very sweet drink. The rum burns a little on exit but after a few sips the burn subsides. There is a little hint of oaked ageing in the aftertaste."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I saw this bottle at local liquer store, and it was going out of market, so i decided to give this one a shot. or two.
Well, the colour atleast is kinda exiting. Also the when i opened the bottle it iimidietly gave me a nice hint of maybe herbs and spices similar to jรคgermeister.
First sip, got me a bit confused, but after second one, it just kept going better and better. You really "grow in" to like this one, for me its not for to be consumed at once. Rather let it stay in cabin for week, couple shots in the evenings, really nice. Especially in autumn, when its gettin a bit colder, this is a ideal to have in a small flask when going to parks or small hikes.
