A Plantation Limited Edition of a Stiggins' Fancy Pineapple Rum that was allowed to re-age in a Teeling Irish Whiskey barrel (200 liters).
Golden amber in the glass.
Sweet and smooth on the nose. Mmm delicious, over the campfire roasted pineapple which already slightly caramelize. The fire is soon extinguished, a little smoke still rising.
Fruity and quaffable on the palate. Pineapple is the absolute dominator here as well, beautifully fruity refreshing, like freshly sliced and served with rum. The sweetness is wonderfully broken by the Teeling finish.
Long and delicious on the finish. The pineapple lingers almost forever, but then slowly disappears into the whiskey barrel.
Prefer this to the "normal" Stiggins' Fancy, the Teeling barrel still brings the right kick. Goes great with a cigar of your choice. For adventurers, explorers, bartenders and Victoria pineapple lovers.

Tasted from Lisa's stash, imported from Indiana. August 28 2023
Appearance: amber
Aroma: pineapple upside down cake but on fire 🔥
Flavor: smokey pineapple. This is a rum that is what is advertised. The smoke flavor comes through in the middle then recedes. I'm enjoying this much more than I expected.

Full disclosure - this is the first flavored/infused rum I’ve ever tasted (aside from coconut rum). So I don’t have much to compare it to. But I will say I didn’t think it was bad. Can taste the pineapple in it, so a bit sweet. Curious to see how it mixes in a cocktail.

This is one of the most disgusting things I've ever put in my mouth. I was really hoping for the smokiness of something like mezcal, but it literally (no, not figuratively) just tastes like an ashtray. This is officially my new least favorite rum.

This version gets an added whiskey smokiness, but not at all peat influenced, and slight reduction in sweetness. Stands up well as a sipper better than the regular and adds even more complexity to cocktails. It's a shame it's now hard to find.

The same pineapple rum without artificiels, aged in whiskey barrels. It's sweet, fruity and smoky.

The original Plantation Pineapple is one of my favorite rums, so I wanted to give this one a try. But I stick to the original without the smoke, this is not for me. Full disclosure I do not like smoky/peated whiskies either.

Good, but not too different from the regular version. Worth trying if you really like that one.

Aromas of pineapple, caramel, oak, banana and sweet tropical fruits. Flavors of pineapple, caramel, smoke, ripe banana and barrel. Well rounded, flavorful, great sipper
