The Kill Devil Trinidad 13y is a rum from Trinidad bottled in Glasgow. The distillery is not mentioned, but since I like to drink rum from Angostura, I quickly recognized the taste. The rum may be stored in oak barrels for 13 years and is bottled with 46% drinking strength without dye, sugar or filtration. There are 362 bottles of the limited single Cask Rum.

In the nose, the rum is beautifully spicy with a slight smoke note. Orange and tropical fruit comes with it. Also vanilla and wood aromas. The nose is pleasant and fun. On the palate you quickly taste that it is an Angostura. Seasoning pairs with a fruity, caramel sweetness. Oak wood and a light medical touch resonate. The finish is pleasant with some sweetness and bitter substances.

I am very positively surprised and find the Kill Devil Trinidad very tasty and pleasant. In comparison, it can keep up well with the 1787, at the same time I would have hoped for a clearer aroma boost from the additional 6%, which however failed to materialise. Clear competition for the Angostura bottlings, since limited. Definitely better than the No 1 series of Angostura. Could become a 9. 8.5 at the moment. I will buy a bottle.

Die Distillerie wird nicht genannt, aber da ich gerne Rum von Angostura trinke, habe ich den Geschmack schnell wieder erkannt. Der Rum darf 13 Jahre in Eichenfässern lagern und wird ohne Farbstoff, Zucker oder Filtration mit 46% Trinkstärke abgefüllt. Es gibt 362 Flaschen von dem limitierten Single Cask Rum.

In der Nase ist der Rum schön würzig mit leichter Rauch Note. Orange und tropische Frucht kommt mit. Auch Vanille und Holzaromen. Die Nase ist angenehm und macht Spaß. Am Gaumen schmeckt man dann schnell das es ein Angostura ist. Würze paart sich mit einer fruchtig, karamelligen Süße. Eichenholz und eine leichte medizinische Note schwingen mit. Der Abgang ist angenehm mit etwas Süße und Bitterstoffen.

Ich bin sehr positiv überrascht und finde den Kill Devil Trinidad sehr lecker und angenehm. Im Vergleich kann er mit dem 1787 gut mithalten, gleichzeitig hätte ich mir von den zusätzlichen 6% einen deutlicheren Aromen Boost erhofft, welcher aber ausblieb. Klare Konkurrenz für die Angostura Abfüllungen, da limitiert. Definitiv besser als die No 1 Reihe von Angostura. Starke 8 mit Tendenz zur 9. Werde wohl eine Flasche kaufen.

A sweet and fruity aroma, peppermint and oranges. The taste is also fruity and fresh, the finish is medium strong.

This one is a very straightforward white mixer, with alcohol smell, a bit of a lemon in taste, relatively smooth, slightly sweet but unsweetened. It is not bad, but there is no Jamaican traits in it which would make me to look for this rum next time I am going to buy a white rum. Still good value for money though, as a basic white mixer it works quite well.

Great rum to start the night with love it with ginger beer and lots of ice.

On the sweet side, rainforest on the nose and in mouth green banana and honey. Scrappy finish

By comparing this to all the rums I have taste that costs ~50 Euros is by far the best one.

One of my random picks and one I do not fully regret, smokey and can overpower so find a good mix or drink on the rocks.

Good filler for the cabinet. Slightly better in my opinion than Kraken. But you pay for the improvement
