Appleton Estate Signature Blend review posted over 2 years ago by MaxMunafo United States ๐บ๐ธ | 67 ratings
Used as a mixing rum under Martin Cate's category of "blended lightly aged".
Good for that but not a sipper.

WAAAAAAY better than standard Bacardi Superior, but still not speaking to me.

Easily consumable in a blind
Good description for this one

Sharp taste. Not smooth at all. I drank it pure but I'm also going to taste it with a Coke. It's probably better for mixing!

Nice golden colour, beautiful bottle, very smooth with full flavour. One of my favourites.
Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry review posted over 2 years ago by WhatZitTooya United States ๐บ๐ธ | 32 ratings
Definitely has a bit more funk and is dryer than, say, an Appleton Signature, so it's a bit of a happy medium in between that and a really funky rum like S&C. If I wanted a single Jamaican rum for a drink with a lot of other juices or sweeteners, I'd go with this.

This was how I found out I had a coconut allergy. Fun.
Hamilton Guyana 151 review posted over 2 years ago by WhatZitTooya United States ๐บ๐ธ | 32 ratings
Wew, this was good. Does a great job in any drink, whether mixed in or as a float.
Tasting notes: overpowering note of ethanol on the nose, with hints of caramel. Classic demerara flavors (brown sugar, caramel, char) on the back, though it has to fight through the ethanol every step of the way.
Smith and Cross Traditional Jamaica Navy Strength review posted over 2 years ago by WhatZitTooya United States ๐บ๐ธ | 32 ratings
I'll be honest, I completely missed the proof when I first bought this, so needless to say, trying a sip of it straight was like getting run over by a fruit truck. It's great in drinks, but sometimes it can be a bit overpowering for people not expecting itโmade some Bali Hais for the family and did a 50/50 with S&C and Appleton Signature instead of straight up, and it turned out great.

Pastel de chocolate, dรกtiles, mazapรกn, turrรณn, caramelo, miel...
Final:
Grasiento como un bocado de muerte por chocolate.

This is the first and only Rum i tried and liked. for me it is a bit expensive (40Euro 1/2 liter)
But it is worth it. i am looking for similar rums, so i can widen the sweet taste.
For now i only found this.

Subtle, a perfect example of the style, and has no equal for cocktails.
Beachbum Barry is right (again).

No better way to make a Jungle Bird or a grog. Lots of funk, molasses, and treacle. Tastes like made in a pot still that was not adequately cleaned, but in a good way. For beer people, this is the Vapuer or Fantome of rums. Surely not for everyone, but I think this is super underrated.

Oak and sherry in the nose with a hint of toffee On the tongue it greets with caramel, transitions to sherryand ends with a smooth oak. Overall a great rum!

Tasted neat, in a Glencairn glass, alongside R.L. Seale's 12yr and ECS Detente. This one came out on the bottom. Not as punchy and flavorful as the other two, it just seemed a bit muted. 80 proof...
