How do you drink your rum?

I usually go for something dark and overproof. Fill a highball glass with ice and pour it about half full of rum, squeeze in a wedge of lime or lemon and then top up with sprite. I only ever use coke if I'm drinking lighter runs, which I usually avoid. Anyways, how does everyone else enjoy this sublime spirit?

I do enjoy mine with some coke (didnt try it with Sprite, but will give it a go!) for the rums I like to drink. Or straight up/with some ice/a bit of water for the higher quality stuff that I like to sip. There is a time and place for both options. :)

With 1 cube of ice or in a mojito - I don't deviate from those very often :)

Sippable; with a cube or straight. Rum and coke are like peanut butter and jelly. With some rums, ginger ale is the stuff.

Usually with two ice cubes! Some times I have coke with it, but am working on my palate with on the rocks!

I typically put in 4 ice cubes (will eventually get the ice ball), fill it 50-60% of spiced rum, and fill up to about 90-95% with Sprite Zero. I then add a splash of sour mix.

It depends on the rum, some of them just in the glass. Some other with ice. Some other a bit mix or an actual coctel

I usually try to mostly buy rums for sipping straight, but I have something on hand for a Mojito in summer and a Hot Toddy in winter. I'm also experimenting with "top shelf" mixers for Daiquiris and Hot Buttered Rum.

I buy all of my rums with the intention of adding nothing but ice or water, if at all. When one spends a nice chunk of change on a good sipping rum, the absolute last thing one wants to do is add soda pop. However, when one takes risks buying rums, we all wind up with disappointments that we can't wait to get rid of. These get mixed for sure. One recent mix that I found on a recent trip to Alaska is to add glacier ice to straight rum. One can buy bottled glacier water and make their own ice cubes from this. It works magic!

Pure. Always. No ice, no water. Or in a cocktail: Mai Tai, Bahama Mama, Planters Punch, Mojito.

The best rums, imo , neat first then one small ice cube. For mixing, coke or ginger beer over ice and lime wedge. It's a long journey were on so plenty more options to try. Enjoy graham.

I like to drink my rum pure, in a Norlan like shaped rum glass, with a separate glass of water by the side. The rum temperature should be between 20° and 25° C (70°- 80° F) For mixing, favourites at the moment: In the summertime: Ginger beer + Gossling 151° = Dark'n'Stormy in the winter: hot apple juice with Kraken dark rum = sorry, I don't remember the name. white rum goes well with Sprite = Santo Libre Cheers mates
