Can anyone tell me what type of food or snacks pairs with light or dark rum

Stumbled into your question now. Who knows if you'll read. Anyway, about dark rum. It goes extremely well with chocolate, I think. Most of the time, they'll actually bring some dark chocolate for you to eat while sipping. Aside from that, I think sweet food, like cake or biscuits. I never drink rum while eating so I can't say, but I don't think it'd go so well with salty dishes. Maybe white rum would be more suited for that. As agricoles are more similar to whisky, I guess you could drink it with chips, nuts or other salty things.

Oh yes, chocolate is great with rum. I choose the chocolate like this, the complex the rum the higher the % of cacao. Raisons are very nice too. Try to find some salted banana chips, perfect in the summertime with rhum agricole. Otherwise, you will cook with rum, I use rum to deglaze Rice or for "flambee" desserts. Just try !
