Barcelo Imperial

The taste is 7, but the price-quality raises it up to 8. It is not strong, rounded, complete taste with notes of dried fruits, nuts, smoke, dry cognac aging. Easy, nice to sip.

A nicely balanced cheap rum, on the sweeter side, a bit of chocolate, toffee, vanilla, very easy to drink

This rum is a classic ron to me. Caramel, vanilla, toffee notes are most prominent in my palate, and it has that slight sweetness I expect with this style of rum.

Not very complexed on the nose. A little dry on the mouth but a nice oaky note and a very slight heat on the finish.

République Dominicaine. Exceptionnelle par sa douceur et pourtant le retour prouve le travail de vieillissement.

The 125. Rum will be a Barcelo, finally.
Nose: Dark, heavy, smoke, wood and some leather maybe. A lot of character. I like.

Palate: aromatic and long lasting. Leather, wood and smoke. Warm and a bit sharp. I would like some more sweetness here. (Captn Jimbo lists 7-16 gpl)

there is some good rum in this bottle. It really is hard to tell, because everything is buried unter tons of sugar. Together with the sad abv of 38%, this qualifies for "drinkable" - but only if there is really nothing else to be had.
Recommended for sweet-tooths who think Diplomatico is not sweet enough.
