We don't find Barcelo Rums locally so this was bought for curiosity. First sip bites a bit but then smoother. Not much nose or aftertaste but pleasant in the mouth. Curl up with a book and a glass and enjoy. Will buy more if I can find it again.

Save few bucks more and buy Imperial instead. This Grand Anejo is sharp, with unnatural flavours.

I had some up in the mountain snowboarding. Must try it again for more accurate review.

Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.
Considering the price (13€ at the time of purchase for a 750ml bottle), I approached it with mixed feelings and boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Real nice sipper in my book and few drops of water really help open it up.

Va giudicato come un Ron giovane, però le sue note giovani non sono per niente male, il sapore del rhum c'è ed è molto ben equilibrato.
Probabilmente il 7 è il suo voto giusto, ma l'8 è giusto se lo si valuta come un rhum abbastanza giovane

Too bittery for me (but not cathastropically), lacks charisma, quite strong smell acceptable but not very nice - feels "cheap". Could re-enter this one to possibly raise the ranking a bit in the future. But this is really one of many in its price range.

Not so strong, pretty average, maybe a little of vanilla was added. Don't buy if you want a sipper, save your money for something better.

Can't say anything bad about the taste but I simply do not enjoy drinking it. The aftertaste is a bit like artificial sugar powder which doesn't help as well.
This was my first rum, and I loved it. Little did I know that after a few other bottles, this one tastes flat, boring and shallow. Ok for starters I guess

Aroma: Ostřejší vůně, alkoholová, s kůží a dřevem, trochu větrová, dále lak na nábytek, leštěnka, vanilka, kořenitost. Taková jednodušší vůně. (82 b)
Chuť: Pikantně krémová, štiplavě alkoholová a jemná dohromady. Alkohol je tu zase znát, a to i přes nízké volume, trochu lihově nevycválaný dojem. Kořenitá až peprná chuť s lehkým nádechem vanilky. (82 b)
Body: 82/100
Shrnutí: Ochutnal jsem v Pivnici U Čolka v Brně-Žabovřeskách, kde mají velmi pěknou rumovou nabídku, odhadem asi 150-170 druhů. Doplnil jsem si tímto rumem základní vzdělání, měl jsem od Barcela Añejo a Imperial, Gran Añejo mi chybělo. Když jsem s rumy začínal, asi by mě bavil víc, teď už jsem objevil zajímavější kousky. Ale pro začátečníky nebo na rozjezd ochutnávky naprosto v pohodě. Ovšem co se týká nákupu lahve, tak se rozhodně vyplatí připlatit si na Imperial, cenový rozdíl není velký, kvalita ano.
