Okay, yes it is sweet. That said, I really like the combination of flavors and sweetness. This is not intended to be a sipper but a mixer. It truly shines in tiki drinks or the classic Corn 'n Oil. Truly an indispensable ingredient in any good home bar.
I've made quite a few Tiki drinks. So far I've only used Falernum from big industrial makers like Monin. Now that I finally got a hold of this stuff (not available widely in Europe it seems) I tasted it and found it to be like nothing else I've ever tasted! It's really hard to describe something that you have never tasted anything similar to before. However I found this to be really nice tasting on it's own. I'm really looking forward to doing cocktails with it as well because that's why I bought it.
Falernum is a must in many tiki drinks and even though the very best and most vibrantly flavored falernum is homemade, this one is a good option.
This isn't a rum! However, it is an essential ingredient in Corn N' Oil which is what I bought it for. For that alone, it's probably a good addition to any collection. I should really try using it for more drinks! Even in Barbados this seems to be something of a niche bottle, in the UK you'll be lucky to find it any way other than mail order.
Op zoek naar de beste Mai-Tai heb je falernum nodig voor in de beachcomber versie. Zoetige rum met limoen smaak. Wel lekker fruitig voor in tiki drankjes
If you're a fan of Beachbum Berry (download his app right now!), you'll be using Falernum in your Tiki cocktails with regularity. This is one of the best commercially made versions. I've tried Fee Bros. and it's nasty, but there are others. I'm guessing that you won't go wrong with Taylor's.
Almonds, lime zest and spices? What doesn't scream tiki? A great mixer for cocktails, not over powering like many cordials get to be. Just real workable.
Ideal for any recipe calling for Falernum. A touch more syrupy than I’d like but killer balance of all spice notes.
Although I don't consider this a rum, this is a requirement for so many tiki cocktails.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A must in a corn n oil cocktail , the bomb and tastes so devine. Obviously this is a mixing drink not something you drink on its own ..
