Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV

Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.

This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Nice and smooth. Lots of different notes with every sip. This will not get boring! The price range is a little steep seeing it lacks body and could definitely go a few more years in the barrel but I like it. Hardly any added sugar so it's a natural.

Mais polido que o rum corrente do retalho, sabe bem enquanto não se decide subir de nível.

I really like it with a small cube or two, very smooth and soft, similar to Angostura and Diplomatica
Spent many evenings solving the world's problems with this rum.

I don't know why, but each time I was pouring myself a glass of Santa Teresa I've heard Pote from the Queen of the South TV series his "aiiiii Terrrressssita". But let's cut to the chase.... Interesting, with vanilla flavour. Good but not perfect.

Ottimo rum da riflessione. Scoperto per caso perché incuriosito dal buon prezzo.
Una felicissima scoperta!!!

I was really looking forward to trying this rum, because of all the great reviews. But comparing it to a dictator 12 or even a Costa Rican centenario 12, this rum is extremely boring and on the last place in a blind tasting. Some wood flavor, but nothing else is discernable. Bottle is nice and red color an eye catcher, but that's about it.

You are better off with a Bacardi solera for a 3rd of the price. A diplomático is certainly also a much better choice if you want Venezuelan rum for the same price. (Paid 45$ in Colombia).

If you don't like sweet rums, the parce 8y (Colombia) is also much better than the Santa Teresa.

This is wonderfully smooth and flavoursome. Easily taste the barrel age without too much wood. Lovely neat and mixed. The flavour complexity is mild but the blend and taste is very easy to enjoy and very easy to drink. This is a successful solera rum. Im surprised by this and will most definitely add it to the cabinet as a new regular. I think this would be a great entry rum for beginners due to its easy nature. Highly recommend this...

Wonderful start not a over powering ethanol finish.
