I only purchased 2 50ml bottles for about $5 and did not spend the money on a regular sized bottle. Not bad aroma mainly of vanilla but that was pretty much where the fun ended. Maybe as a mixer this works but I am not going to find out because if I want a spiced rum Captain Morgan private stock, Brinley Shipwrecked or Foursquare are similarly priced and certainly better.

Not as good as one would hope seeing the colour and label

Tasted at Laka Lono on 9/8/21. This is horrible. Deep amber color. Aroma of bleach. Burned rubber flavor. Harsh. Very harsh. Nembutal-like anesthetic palate. A mild sweetness emerges after adding a single ice cube, but this is soon followed by a series of needles in your mouth.

Sailor Jerry was doubtless a great guy with stupendous tattooing chops but he veered a bit out of his lane when it comes to his rum. It's okay, don't misunderstand, but it just tastes plasticky and artificial to me with a monstrous wallop of vanilla punching you a clown's nose right off the bat. Spices and sugar thoroughly dominate to an almost syrupy extent, and I feel that if one consumed enough of this straight it would get peoples' fingers hovering over the 9 and 1 keys on their telephones. If drunkenness is your thing—and it isn't mine—grab one of these bad boys, cut it with a more than generous splash (indeed, a Noahic flood) of cola and knock yourself out ... which you probably will. As for me, no thanks; don't park here, drive on by.

Giving it a 7 since spice rums are not my cup of tea and this is the least “spiced” on this category… subtle flavor of spices without been overly sweet or overpowering.

This is the worst spiced rum I've had. Which is sad, I heard so many good things about it before I bought it. I cannot stand the taste.

I could hardly imagine any spiced rum as a sipper, but Sailor Jerry Spiced is definetly on the top of my mixers list. Nice color and nose with dominant vanilla (but much more balanced than CM) and my favourite - black pepper and nutmeg notes.
Best mixes with Cherry Cola.

Sailor Jerrys spiced is a much better option for mixers than Captain Morgan, may be slightly more expensive but taste is far better.

Definitely a step above the market leader Captain Morgan but still having that mass market Meh... appeal. best used as a mixer to show that you are better than that other bar across the street
