A friend brought it over, which was a gift he received. Very smooth and easy to drink. A little on the sweet side, but not too sweet. Flavors are pleasant but not complex. Certainly a good addition to my rum treasure chest, but not the best.
After tasting a few other Bambarra rums on a recent trip to Turks and Caicos, I had high hopes for the Trouvadore. Not as egregiously bad as Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, and it actually tastes like rum, but not as good as anticipated. Definitely sugared / dosed, could taste it on the first sip. Should have been suspicious with the company keeping mum on the provenance of the rums in the bottle; unsubstantiated rumor is they're from Angostura. The other tip off should have been the 35% ABV, which is odd for a spirit that purports to be aged for 15 years - other Bambarra rums are 40%. All that said, it's a decent sipper for people who like sweeter rums, and probably quite tasty with a mixer, but its rarity (outside of TCI) doesn't warrant the price and there are many other bottles I will reach for before this one. In my opinion, stick with Bambarra's other offerings if you want "real" rum.
Pleasant flavor and smoothness!!! A hidden gem from Turks and Caicos.
Deep amber is accompanied by notes of sweet caramel and butterscotch.
If youโre in Turks & Caicos and you love rum, this should be your go-to. Great mixing rum and sippable neat. Skip the rest of the Bambarra line and go straight for this one.
Very nice, a bit sweet. Fairly smooth. Fairly full bodied.
It's a smooth light gold sipping with lots of flavours
This is one of my favorite rums. The taste is light at first with hints of vanilla and toffee, but it delivers the alcohol on the way down. It has a beautiful light gold color and is a real pleasure to drink. Unfortunately, it can only be purchased in TCI. So, when my stash runs out, we'll have to be taking another trip down to buy more.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is not even close to the other 15 year aged rums
