Ron Zacapa XO rum

Ron Zacapa XO

Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV

Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac

The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I picked this bottle of rum up while traveling to Japan as it was quite cheaper than in Canada. I was excited to try it when I got home but to be honest was a bit disappointed. I didint get any unique or interesting flavors from it and found the 23 year while less smooth more unique.overall a very smooth bottle of rum with a very nice bottle but was a bit boring for me.

The nose has tones of sugar, wood and cognac. The first sip is quite smooth and woody, then There hits a firm kick with some complex flavour. It has not to much sweetness but just enough to make it Nice and accessible.

I was so happy to get this bottle, but expected more at this price point. Sweet and woody on the nose, but vanilla and cognac up front. Meh.

My father knows I love rum and offered me a glass of this. It's good, but it tastes too much like cognac for my palette. If you love both cognac and rum, then this bottle was made for you. I get the high reviews, because if you enjoy this flavor profile you will love this, and it was made for sipping. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a cognac drinker, besides in a sidecar. Actually, as a sub for cognac in a sidecar this would probably be phenomenal, but I don't think I could justify the price tag.

Tra i rum più conosciuti dai meno "esperti". Vai sul sicuro con l'XO, al palato è melassoso. Buono

I did not give this rum a 10 because of its price, very expensive at $106.00 a bottle. AWSOME rum but in my opinion not worth the price. Dos Maderas 5+5 can be purchased for 75% less, Plantation XO 20th Anniversary for 50% less, Zacapa 23 for 50% less and all these rums are just as good tasting and smooth.

This is an amazing rum but it sadly got very expensive. I bought my last bottle for about 65 EUR but now I can only find it for over 150 EUR. Sad because it's amazing. Lots of vanilla and tropical fruits with some caramel. Grape notes with figs following the aformentioned notes.

Was given by friend and did not disappoints. Excellent finish. The barrel stands tall for this rum. Worth the price but try to find cheaper.
