Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

This is smooth but it has a lot of odd flavors for a rum… one of the tastes has reminded me of a nasturtium crossed with a geraniums. It is rather sweet as well.

I was looking forward to this rum because of its general popularity. I didn't like sipping it. Smells nice but the taste is harsh and I can't get myself over that sharp alcoholic taste. Tastes really cheap. I would be able to choose a far better rum from cheaper categories.

This was the rum that changed my style of drinking! 2oz with an orange slice over the rocks and a cigar is hard to beat!
Or 2oz, 1/2 of a lime, and a teaspoon of sugar for the best daiquiri you'll ever taste!
Fine rhum, not to sweet not to strong. A rhum I would like to taste again.

I only drank the rum pure and with some ice. With ice the rum is perfect. Do not drink it with coke!!

Those 3 words in my title tell it all. Of course when you sip this rum you find it easy to drink and enjoyable. But an old rum is not supposed to be that sweet. For that price you should consider buyin a REAL aged rum. If you have other choices, you can skip this rum.

The very first rum a have tried, and fell in love with rum drinking. Always a special one for me. Prof that you dont have to spend a fortune for excelent drink.

Ein wunderbarer Rum, schmeckt zu jeder Zeit !
Nase: Dezente Noten von Karamell, Toffee, Trockenfrüchte.
Dieses zieht sich im Gaumen weiter, dazu gesellt sich eine schwere Süsse.
Der Abgang ist langanhaltend und mmmm..
Hat mehr Tiefgang als der RZ15 Solera.
Leider fehlen diesem Rum ein wenig die Ecken und Kanten und wirkt weichgespült.
A wonderful rum, tastes at any time!
Nose: subtle hints of caramel, toffee, dried fruit.
This continues in the palate, accompanied by a heavy sweetness.
The finish is long lasting and mmmm ..
Has more depth than the RZ15 Solera.
Unfortunately, this rum lacks the corners and edges and acts soft washed.
