This is truly a high end sipper. So smoth and well balanced. A must have in your collection.

Fantastischer Rum. Er ist mild, süss und ausgewogen. Keinerlei Ecken und Kanten. Könnte man auch als typischer Frauen-Rum bezeichnen.

Sweet but still with a lot of complexity. Love it!

The 12 years is probably one of the most smooth in the category (12 years) in IMO.

So what about the XO

Eye: Copper, dark, dense.

Noise: Spicy wood, banana, dry fruit, some vanilla.

Taste: The same you smell is the same you taste, the banana is probably the most exotic note.

In general it is an amazing rum, awesome, delicious box and presentation.

The taste is sweet. The nose is sweet and sugary. The after taste is momentary and no burn on the nose or in the throat but a slight tingle on the roof of the mouth. This taste very similar to El Pasador De Oro. With the snifter glass I can really appreciate the difference nose, with the palate and the finish. It's worth the price. Bonuses is I got it for $55 instead of 70+. #Winning

I'm not a high class run drinker by any means[keep it under 100$ a bottle] and I saw this at my local Binnys and read these reviews and got it. So glad I did. I love my sherry oak rums and vanilla flavored by captain Morgan, for me this is a better tastings and smoother version of those. Zaya gran reserve and pilar 24 are 2 others I love and this is just as good.

I discovered Cartavio XO at Lima the airport among a lot of Pisco bottles. Great buy. I have not seen it outside Peru, and I have not been back. For sure a candidate for my "active collection".
