ok, pre-Covid I traveled every week. I was doing work for a client in Baltimore and tried this Navy strength at a nice seafood restaurant.
Since it was knew to the place & it wasn’t too busy as I went for an early dinner, the waiter brought it out after my first one.
I was shocked that it was 114 proof. Wasn’t the least bit harsh for a 100+ proof rum.
I’ll have to try it again and maybe revise my rating. I recommend giving it a try - don’t normally think about Baltimore when I think of rum - lol.
Makes you want to set sail in the Caribbean...For those who like a bit more kick to their rum, this is for you. Strong - but only to the point of reminding you that you are an adult drinking an alcoholic beverage...not a "20-something" pounding cheap rum and sugary soda. This is a drink that demands you to take the time to sip and enjoy. At 110+ proof is is strong, but has a mellow tone to it that makes you want to give it a try neat. Mixed, you will have a nice "rum forward" cocktail on your hands.
Higher proof, but super smooth. Can see this one being versatile..
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very good, but not the best Navy

Definitely a great Navy strength rum. Flavorful with lots of molasses and some vanilla and cane notes. A hint of banana too. Strong bite but very smooth. Pretty good balance here. Impressive. 4-5 droplets of water, not much, smooths it out even more. Lingers on the pallet. Finish is short and powerful. Very good neat or on ice. Probably better neat. I definitely like Pussers, Privateer and Austrian Empire better but this is definitely in my top 5 Navy rums. Good stuff! Better than Smith & Cross. I will drink/sip this straight with pleasure anytime.
