Unfortunately, too harsh to get into details. I would put this in zombies.

In the bottle gifted to me by Uncle Rob. I’m not sure why this entry is any different from Stroh 80, which I assume is also 160 proof? Pours a light brown color. The aroma is melted plastic, band aids, and acetylene. Palate is liquid fire. If you can ascertain flavor before fixing your oral tissues, then you might notice a strong vanilla. This has its place and ought not be dismissed just because it is undrinkable.

However, it does leav a very interesting ‘melted peeps’ flavor when used right, which is floated and set on fire in a cocktail. Or just floated, it brings a kind of ‘angry burnt egg custard’ thing to a drink. I wouldn’t drink it on the rocks…

OK, so we got a bunch of German hard liquor for Oktoberfest-week-at-home (Covid-19, thanks), including a bottle of Stroh 160.

Each bottle we had a shot to taste it, and Stroh 160 gave the reaction "whoa! WTF!" from all of us, and I drink bourbon every week, sometimes 50% alcohol. But, 80% alcohol anything is obviously not to be drunk straight (unless you are trying to get drunk fast or kill yourself).

So, another bottle we got was Bärenjäger, a 35% alcohol honey (real) liqueur. That is very tasty, Stroh has a nice taste/smell, but the 80% alcohol is way too strong, so mixing 50-50 of each was very nice.

Bottom line, don't drink something like everclear-with-flavor and expect anything other than being knocked on your butt. In a mixed drink, I'd recommend it, because it brings a punch to the party, along with a uniquely tasty flavor.

It has a subtle butterscotch n spice taste, but you're immediately betrayed by 160 proof. It's been rare for me to drink this and not feel sick later.
