Aroma is smoothed and nicely fruity. Taste is explosion ! Fruity, full, kicked by higher level of alcohol. Long pleasant aftertaste. Like boosted Foursquare 2008 :-)

Powerful with amazing smell and flavours. The best Jamaica rum I've tried :) but Forythes 2006 WPM is almost as good and also Veliers Hampden rums are close. The Monymusk 2010 EMB is the one I like the least. This rum is for small sips, I usually let it be in the mouth for a while mixing it with some saliva. Soooo fruity and 59% is just perfect! Maybe not for a beginner in rum but for someone who wants to drink the real deal. A masterpiece!

After reading the marks I ordered 3 bottles of this, good reason to celebrate my 50th birthday.
Well, I have to recognize the agricole terroir in it, maybe a bit harsh to my tongue...nothing to say about previously noticed commentaries about the nose but coming to tasting I have to set limits to the roundness and maturity, not enough in wood to be acclaimed as a premiere.
The palate is very long, very very long....unfortunately leading to molasses after the sweet flavors of “Jamaican apricots”.
In conclusion: not worthy a 9 but still excellent agricole in its middle-aging........I’d rate this one with a 7 and half if the system allowed it. Thank you

I've become a big fan of the Worthy Park rums and this one is no exception. On the nose you get lots of fruit...especially banana with cinnamon thrown in as well. I was a little hesitant for the first sip since it's at 59% ABV but it went down very nicely with notes of more banana and coconut but also very strong hints of oak. The famous Jamaican funk hits you at the end but in a great way.

This isn't a cheap bottle by any means but I'll have to find a way to get myself another bottle before it's all gone.

This is hands down a fantastic rum. The nose is potent and complex but more well behaved then fx. overproof hampden. Notes of black tea, mashed banana and pineapple, toffee and bergamot fill’s the nostrils. Sipping it is in no way a dull affair, but it’s still very drinkable for an overproof Jamaican. Notes of spicy barrel, mashed banana and black tea comes on strongly. The finish is very rich and long fading from oak to some lingering dark chocolate and pineapple sweetness. Completely satisfying and very well balanced.

Nice rich amber with mahogany reflections in the glass.
In the nose, like a walk on freshly rained moss with a chocolate roll in your hand. Freshly cut wood lies by the wayside, the resin dripping from the wet wounds.
On the palate it happens, the aroma explosion of almost uncanny length. You also need the time to sort out all these aromas. Tropical fruits, banana, lychee, mango and a little passion fruit. Cocoa, leather, wood, nuts and heavy spices are imprinted on the tongue.
In the finish, the cocoa plays a little Mikado with the wood aromas.
An absolutely ingenious rum that needs time and leisure, real, hard and pure. For connoisseurs and Lovers. 9+

This is very good rum. Much more balanced and somewhat mellowed compared to the Hampden 2010 . ( Which I like..) Long finish and slightly sweet in the mouth. Smaller sips showcase the flavors. I would totally recommend adding this bottle to the cabinet, while it’s still readily available.

Přímo jsem srovnával s Forsyths White WPE 2017... Nebe a dudy!
Vůně neodolatelná, vznešená, jemně technická, pečené citrusy, hrušky, ostružiny, bylinná!
Chuť kořenitá, kůže, dřevitá, suchá, kandované ovoce, čokoláda, jemně technika, nádherně integrovaný alkohol.
Dochuť dřevitá, ovocná, barvitá...
Toto je TOP!

This is a pure pot still molasses based from the famous Worthy Park distillery in St. Catherine, Jamaica. This is a WPL marque which means it is a “light ester” rum, but when we are talking about Worthy Park and Hampden that is still funkier than George Clinton. After distillation this rum was aged 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels on estate in Jamaica before being picked by Velier. For those uninitiated, Habitation Velier only picks the very best rum in the world in my opinion. Luca Gargano has an extraordinary taste for rum. Bottom line, 9 times out of 10, if it comes from Velier or Habitation Velier it’s not just going to be good, it’s going to be outright amazing. So what is this heralded iteration like?

The nose on this rum is exceedingly rich. Immediately I get funky Bananas Foster, Werthers Caramel, and a faint note of Furniture Lacquer. The next waft reveals Chocolate Liqueur Bonbons, faint dried Sage, Cherry syrup, and early harvest unfiltered red wine (the kind that is rich and sweet when the fermentation has just started)

The palate is almost identical to the nose to except with the addition of a deep rich liquid milk chocolate note like the inside of a Lindor truffle and a few other tiny alterations. Taking a sip I get Bananas Foster, that rich gooey Milk Chocolate note, Werthers Caramel, faint Furniture Lacquer, faint dried Sage, Porto, and just a touch of old musty oak barrels (not the sour acidic oak of bourbon…but more like an ancient musty barrel that has sat in a cellar for several decades).

The finish is where this rum takes a departure from the nose and the palate. As the rum leaves my mouth I get the return of Furniture Lacquer but this time a bit stronger. This transitions to Chocolate Liqueur Bonbons, Cheerwine Soda, Ricola Lemon Cherry cough drops, and a more pronounced Sage note.

This rum is excellent and outright delicious. It is classic Worthy Park with added complexity. To my senses it is neither as complex nor quite as impressive as the 2005 is but it is still a wonderful sip that ranks very highly with me.

One fascinating and unique thing about this rum is its expressions and flavors at various levels of dilution. I find it tastes best with no dilution and then again with a lot of dilution. It surprisingly is not as good with “medium” dilution. So my recommendation it to either drink this straight with no dilution or to water it down a bit, because oddly in the middle it doesn’t taste as good as it does on either end of the dilution spectrum

Verdict: this is an excellent Worthy Park bottling and one I will savor slowly. Every Habitation Velier bottling is a treat, and this one is high up on the board for me even if it does fall short of “perfect”.
