In its price range, this is a decent Spiced Rum. It is very smooth and does a good job with Ginger beer and lime. I would stay away mixing this with coke as its sweetness can be a bit overwhelming.
Might buy again.
A decent new spiced rum I now see regularly in London bars
Currently my favourite Rum. Incredibly smooth, very subtle (not in your face) with a genuine Vanilla Rum Flavour coming thru. Love it!
Named after the locals apparently... This a good spiced rum , vanilla and a nice amount of ginger , plus either caramel or honey (sugar). Lovely nose and spicy finish with a decent warming of the throat. Makes a pleasant sipper with an ice cube but an even better mixer with both Bundaberg ginger beer or a quality cola , will buy again.
Trials have begun. Always try first with old Jamaica, then cherry Coke, and finally Vanilla Coke. Cherry Coke wins on this ocassion. Over lots of ice with a squeeze of lime
A nice spiced rum, goes well with coke or ginger beer. Very good value for money
Gone through about 5 bottles now it's my bottle of choice for weekends away in our motorhome. Sweet lushness, vanilla, caramel tones and not a hint of anything too unsettling as regards afterburn. Quite easily could consume half a bottle in an evening, this is such a comforting enjoyable drop.
This is the absolute sweetest rum I've ever tasted. I would classify its taste as more of a liqueur, than a regular rum. Strong vanilla nose, then sweetness, vanilla, sweetness, ginger, sweetness, rum, and more vanilla in the mouth. Did I mention it was sweet? Being 37% alcohol, and highly sugared and flavored, its easily sipped neat, but I'd recommend an ice cube or splash of mixer to cut the sweetness down. If you're looking for a super-sweet dessert rum for sipping, and really like vanilla, this one might interest you. Its priced very reasonably to try out, which is always a good thing for me!
For something that is so reasonably cheap, this spiced rum is the bomb.
Smooth enough to sip away at on its own, it's also a fantastic mixer, and goes incredibly well with apple juice - so much so that if you pour one, before you know it it will be down your gullet and your on to the next one!
Cheap/mid range rum from supermarket, personally I didn't enjoy this so much.
This is a very nice smooth spiced rum, taste more expensive than it is. A must try, you won't be disappointed
A very smooth spiced I prefer to Jerry its got the vanilla poss is essence but nice with a touch ginger I drink it with equal amount of slimline ginger fever trees the best over ice a slice lime delicious and I just bought bottle at Tesco for £15 ! I would love to try Rum Diary if any one knows if you can get it in UK
I enjoyed this over ice with Coke zero. A great little drink with a lovely sweet caramel flavour. One that could become a regular alongside my favourite Captain!
This little gem is far too easy to sip away at....yes its high in the vanilla and ginger flavours and yes it is only 37% but this stuff tastes great and I personally did not find it too sweet. if you must mix it try cherry cola over ice and a sprig of mint for a refreshing summer mix.
Enjoyed this as a sipper smells like tia maria. General nice summer sipper
Similar to sailor Jerry apart from the ginger. Nice enough flavour if a bit too much vanilla but very tasty. Coke ramps up the sweetness even more so try the diet version if you want to avoid it being too sickly. I tend to pour a stronger shot (doubles or more) with the sweeter spiced rums which for me are more enjoyable but all too easy to over do.overall I liked it and will buy again.
This is a nice rum to have with coke it gives it a caramel flavour.
I feel this is a middle class rum that's ok... It's great in mixers but quite.poor on the rocks but excellent with a slice of lime...
This is a very easy to take rum with a hint of ginger, nice with Coke and a slice of lime.
Absolutely deliciously smooth and sweet. Strong vanilla aroma, belongs in a family with Sailor Jerry's but personally I prefer it, slight ginger touch to add a bit of spice - seriously, dangerously drinkable.
The first thing I noticed was the chemical aroma. The taste is overwhelmingly vanilla so that any other spices were masked. Mixed with coke the strong vanilla taste remained. Generally unsatisfactory
I normally turn my nose up at spiced rums, however this one is lovely although the vanilla is very strong. Cheeky nip of ginger is there to remind you it's spiced.
