Visited the Rhum JM distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Distillery tours were very nice and supplemented with a full open tasting bar. Rhum JM Vintage 2002 was priced at EUR 63 per bottle at the distillery. Very nice bottle and label design. Golden color. Traditional floral Rhum Agricole flavors complemented with plenty of grass and very strong oak to your nose and palate. Mild burn at the end. Rhum Agricole lovers can add 2 points to the score.
I’m not sure if it’s the same Rhum here rated as Vintage 2002 or if it’s an older variant of the ordinary XO. This one is a little bit older and also stronger than the ordinary XO.
It tastes quite a lot like the ordinary XO, but the afterburn is stronger.
