Trois Rivières Teeling Irish Whiskey Finish !
I have won this bottle at an auction together with other bottles in a bundle. I'm actually not interested in it and normally I wouldn't have bought it. But now it's here, so let's have a drink.
Nose : light fruity, notes like prune and apricot, nut chocolate and the typical barley notes of an irish whiskey. A hint of malt and sweetness in the back.
Palate : fruits are absconded and the rum did it also. Simply a real Irish Whiskey with a little nutty and woody but pleasant sharpness on the tongue and far away the freshness of the sugar cane. 43 % ABV are present but not unpleasant.
Finish : short to medium and also typical whiskey with a little (but fast ending) sharpness. Over.
Conclusion : the most rums are aged in whisky casks (bourbon), nevertheless they taste like a rum (maybe with some impacts from special finishs) and they are great. But this one is original like a Whiskey. Not bad and an interesting experiment, but not a rum. Just 6 points from me.
