Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year rum

Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year

FL
had this rum recently

Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV

The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.

Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.

Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

This is fairly smooth and totally decent. It tastes and smells a lot like Wray And Nephew Overproofed Rum but without the heat. It's pretty good stuff and it is the bottle that gave birth to the Painkiller, which is a delicious cocktail! I can safely say that it has a delicious (very mellowed) baking spice (especially ginger) taste to it. Worth buying!

Versatile rum at an incredible value. Not stellar neat, but agreeable on its own, comfortable on the rocks, and flexible enough to be used in a variety of drinks (not just the famous Painkiller). Tastes of molasses, vanilla, and coffee. A staple in my “workhorse” bar rotation

Næse: fyldig sødme. Smag: kraftige smagsnoter af træ. Eftersmag: lang og rund.

If you leave a few drops in the glass, there is a very intensive smell of smoke. The taste is average and does not leave any special memories.

One of my first dark rums. Unique flavor do Pusser’s, almost a little salty. Great mixer with fruit juices.

barva tmavě žluto hnědá
- vůně karamel, vanilka, koření, jemná káva
- chuť zlehka nasládlá, jemná káva, karamel, koření
Poměr cena/výkon velmi příjemný

Great rum, just as simple as that. Nice colour, taste of oak, vanilla, orange and caramel. Not as defined in taste as the Gunpowder Proof. First sip is balanced and no strong burn, smooth without being week and anonymous. Great value and a strong recommendation from me.
