Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year rum

Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV

The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.

Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.

Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

Pusser's the original navy rum. Very rich in flavour. My personal preference is to water it down with a teaspoon full of water just to take the edge off it.

Don't like it with Coke reminds me off captain Morgan yuchh!

I love a Pusser's British Navy. Though my score may not suggest so.
The first bottle I ever opened, I was not so impressed and condoned to using it as a mixer for the famous BVI Pain Killer cocktail.
HOWEVER, I forgot about the remains I placed in their decanter. 6m later I revisited it. The interaction with the air in the bottle mellowed it out changed its flavors dramatically.
Now an "open" bottle always sits their with my other staple rums.
I like it neat or served in a PainKiller cocktail.

This rum is fantastic... Great taste, better neat but not a bad mixer

Certainly sippable, an excellent mixer. This versatile rum has overtones of dried fruit and perhaps caramel or butterscotch that make for an interesting sip. Very smooth, with little harsh "alcohol" taste.

The bottle of rum I ordered hasn't arrived yet, so I had to find something else to tide me over in the meantime. Went to a liquor store I hadn't been to for a while and they had this Pusser bottle on the top shelf. After reading all the praise here, I bought it and took it home... when wistfully, I realized the plastic seal had already been removed. I tasted a tiny sip, because I was curious, but felt a little queasy about it. The cork looked moldy. So I called the liquor store, they were cool, swapped it for another bottle. (Later discovered they simply put the bottle back on the shelf to sell. I'm never returning to that liquor store again!) I'm glad I made the return trip, the rum is indeed fantastic, dark, real, flavorful, robust, not too sweet. I read that the British Navy stopped providing this rum free to their sailors in their rations... All the more for civilians! Update: I downgraded my rating from a 9 to an 8 after I read Pusser sued a great Tiki bar in New York called the Painkiller for trademark infringement, which I think was a dick move!

I got this bottle from a good friend of mine, he bought it on Free shop at Caribbeans. Not available here and the bottle went so quickly.
Will look for another one beacause this is great stuff. So smooth and drinkable.

A real Navy rum with a kick. unfortunately Tot call has been eliminated from her majesty's Navy and when it was still there I remember the rum being mixed with water but the flavor and bite was still there and Pusser's brought back those memories with a substantial improvement in flavor and bite. One of my favorites. Not for the faint of heart, its a strong course rum.

Alkohol: 47,75 %
Původ: Britské Panenské ostrovy
Aroma: Klasická rumová vůně, kůže, náplň rumových pralinek ale v hutnější a silnější formě, sladce kořeněná. Kandované ovoce, datle a fíky. (85 b)
