In der Nase warm und tief. Eine riesige Auswahl von Düften macht sich bereit zur grossen Parade. Früchte aller Art, nach Sorten gruppiert, führen den Tross an. Da sind auch die Gruppen von Gräser und Blumen die sich fröhlich miteinander vermischen. Die Gilde der Herben, mit den Protagonisten Tabak, Leder, Kakao, Harz und Holz versteht sich ausgezeichnet mit der Gewürz Gang wo Vanille, Kardamom, Pfeffer, Muskat und die kleine Süssholzwurzel das sagen haben. Edles Karamell verkauft den Zuschauern Plaketten.
Am Gaumen tief und frisch. Da zieht die ganze Truppe langsam über die Zunge. Die Geschmacksknospen werden gefordert, sie werden von den Früchten verschmust, vom Harz gezupft und von dem Gewürzen geklopft. Da geht richtig etwas ab, Aromen kommen und gehen, kommen wieder, verwandeln sich, bleiben länger, alles was die Nase erlebt hat wiederfährt nun dem Gaumen.
Im Abgang lang und beinahe ewig. Noch lange siehst du den Umzug am Horizont doch die einen Gruppen werfen längere Schatten als andere. Du geniesst das Ganze noch lange in Ruhe.
Ich konnte diesen absoluten spitzen Rhum am Gin und Rum Festival 2022 in Luzern verkosten. Ein wirklich herausragender Rhum der Seinesgleichen sucht, aber zu diesem Preis ? 2800.- Chf.! Ich finde nein, auch wenn davon nur 157 Flaschen abgefüllt wurden.
Für Jeden der sich es leisten kann. ;-)

Warm and deep on the nose. A huge selection of fragrances gets ready for the big parade. Fruits of all kinds, grouped by variety, lead the procession. There are also the groups of grasses and flowers mingling happily together. The guild of herbs, with the protagonists tobacco, leather, cocoa, resin and wood, gets along excellently with the spice gang, where vanilla, cardamom, pepper, nutmeg and the small liquorice root have the say. Noble caramel sells badges to the spectators.
Deep and fresh on the palate. There the whole troupe moves slowly across the tongue. The taste buds are challenged, they are cuddled by the fruits, plucked by the resin and tapped by the spices. Something is really going on, aromas come and go, come back, transform, stay longer, everything that the nose has experienced now happens to the palate.
The finish is long and almost eternal. You can see the procession on the horizon for a long time, but some groups cast longer shadows than others. You enjoy the whole thing in peace for a long time.
I was able to taste this absolutely top rhum at the Gin and Rum Festival 2022 in Lucerne. A truly outstanding rhum that is second to none, but at this price ? 2800 Chf! I think no, even if only 157 bottles were bottled.
