Distillate from the 1972 closed distillery Courcelles on Guadeloupe.
This 38 year old Rhum was bottled with 54% vol.
Beautiful amber with copper reflections in the glass.
In the nose incredibly multi-layered and changes continuously. Delicately smoked caramel in oak barrels, candied oranges decorated with lemon zest, vanilla ice cream with cardamom to describe only a tiny fraction of the fragrances.
On the palate it is wonderfully pleasant and full-bodied. The aromas literally explode on the tongue, no bite and burn. A whole basket of fruits, even a whole barrel full of fruits of this world ! Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, wood, resin, pepper, nutmeg, soft and velvety and perfectly balanced with hundreds more aromas.
In the aftertaste very discreetly smoky, caramel, chocolate, plums and much more remain forever.
A pointed Rhum with extreme aromas depth and complexity to compare with a Caroni, not so " dirty ". Only recommended for connoisseurs of genuine rum ! Unfortunately had only one sample, bottles are still to be bought at a relatively high price (0.5 l approx. 280.- Chf.) for collectors and connoisseurs but worth a sin.
