Could smell this as it was delivered to the table. Hints of vanilla. Rich complex taste. Slight burn on the lips. Very nice neat.
Another winner for me from Plantation's twist on Jamaican rum. A really big nose - lots of fruit (but more fresh, only a hint of overripeness), a powerful blast of fermentation and alcohol, and something grilled - maybe like squash?
This is a flavor bomb. I very much enjoy Plantation's Xaymaca Special Dry, and this is a very complex, adult version of that. The fermented fruit, along with some pastry, leads the way on the palate, with a very long, sizzling finish that's reminiscent of a spiced fruit syrup. This is not sweet, however.
I may update as I continue the bottle, but this is certainly top shelf by my standards. Some people complain about Plantation's Jamaican rums not being "Jamaican" enough, but while this is identifiably treated to cognac casks, it's thoroughly funky.
This is the smoother version of the Plantation Xaymaca. Aroma and flavors of ripe banana and roasted pineapple. A herbal rum too.

TASTING NOTES
Nose : Very complex, slightly smoky and meaty with fruity, herbal and sour notes building up. Next vanilla come forward, almost pastry-like, with cooked banana, bitter orange peel and ripe pineapple.
Palate : Dry, with a more floral and fruitier profile of rose water, soursop, pear, white grape, apricot and sugar-apple. Next some coconut milk, balsam, allspices, bread and nuts emerge.
Goldfarbenes Bernstein im Glas.
In der Nase einfach eine Wucht. Frisch gebackene Brötchen mit allerlei tropischen Früchten belegt. Litschi , Mangostane, Ananas, getrockneten Kokosflocken und Zitruszesten. Die Brötchen sind mit Zimt bestäubt und mit Schokolade und Vanille gefüllt. Eingepackt in einen duftenden hölzernen Hauch.
Am Gaumen weich, sanft und süss lieblich wie ein Plantation so ist. Ein funky Vanillepudding mit karamellisierten tropischen Früchten und Schokoflocken gespickt. Süsses helles Karamell und leicht geröstetes Eichenholz erweitern Raum und Zeit.
Im Abgang lang und voller Überraschungen. Zuerst Schokolade, dann Marzipan und danach soviel Früchtekuchen wie Du magst.
Ein wirklich toller Rum, nicht so extrem funky und doch mit viel Körper. Geeignet für Einsteiger in die Jamaika-Welt und Süssrum-Lover. Pur-Rum-Lover sollten sich auch ein Glass gönnen. 8+

In the nose simply a blast. Freshly baked rolls with all kinds of tropical fruits. Litchi, mangosteen, pineapple, dried coconut flakes and citrus zests. The rolls are dusted with cinnamon and filled with chocolate and vanilla. Wrapped in a fragrant wooden wrap.
On the palate, soft, smooth and sweetly sweet as a plantation is. A funky vanilla pudding filled with caramelized tropical fruits and chocolate flakes. Sweet light caramel and lightly toasted oak extend space and time.
Long and full of surprises on the finish. First chocolate, then marzipan and then as much fruit cake as you like.
A really great rum, not so extremely funky and yet with lots of body. Suitable for beginners in the Jamaica world and sweet rum lovers. Pure rum lovers should also treat themselves to a glass. 8+

A nice sipper. Sweet fruity taste of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon. Lengthy after taste with pleasant notes of the above. Pleasant and inviting scent.

Jamaican rum from the Plantation range, made with a blend of spirits from the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, matured in bourbon casks for 12 years before moving over to Ferrand Cognac casks for a year before bottling.
Mocha, Turkish delight floral top notes, fresh banana and a touch of melted butter.

Price and quality considering it is fantastic if you like Jamaica rum.
