Your nose is greated by a classic and powerfull port morant aroma. It's full, rich, a little sharp and with that unmistakable mineralised and salty aniseed character. Im a fan of these kind of demerara rums, but on the palate im missing a bit of body and smoothness. Its drinkable, but doesn't excell and "explode" like fx. the fastastic Velier rums.

An independent bottling Bristol Spirits of a 1999 Port Morant Demerara rum matured in Britain in oak barrels before being transferred to port pipes for the last 2 years of maturation.

Red Amber in color. The pot still distillation produces a high ester aroma which I have very difficult to place (others would for sure say it's complex so must be good then).

It does taste wonderfully smooth with elements of toffee, light caramel, fruitiness and spice with a very long finish with a hint of liquorice.

A drop of water and letting it breathe definitely helps. Very nice.
