I really enjoy the vanilla, spicy notes of this rum. For a white rum I believe this is quite unusual. From the blend of the 3 historical rum-producing countries: Trinidad, Barbados and ..Jamaica ! I recommend it in Daiquiri, so delicious !
Really smooth, non-agressive. I'am a pirate love dark, anejo, hardcore rums, but this one blow me up! It's a master for any cola drinks with lemon, orange, banana. He is not white! He is a barely desert-color. This is good friend for any parties with friends who don't know what a huge kingdom is good rum. Good for everyday drinks. Regards Pirate!
I use this rum for Cuba libre, daiquiris, and mojitos. I reserve ones for the absolute best in its category, So I am only comparing it to other white rums, not dark ones that you would sip in straight up. So far this is the best white rum I have had (If I find a noticeably better one I will knock this one down to a 9). I haven't tried tons of premiums whites but can safely say this is my favorite.
Price is weighed lightly in my rating. I paid $25 for a 1 liter bottle
Best white rum you can get. Loved this rum a whole lot
This stuff makes an amazing and diverse daiquiri that is what I would recommend to win most non-rum drinkers over with. Sweet and fruity with very little harshness.
EDIT: This has rapidly become my workhorse rum. Extremely versatile and its fruity notes and bright flavor comes through amazingly to amplify almost any rum drink I've tried it in. Can't recommend keeping a bottle of this behind the bar enough.
If you need white rum for cocktail - this one here got you covered. Ideal.
This is actually a dark rum, but cold filtered to compete in the segment of white rums.
The make up of the bottle is amazing and emphasises it's origin. Regarding the taste:
Actually, if you compare this rum with other white rums, you could sip this rum, sounds crazy but it isn't. The rum is pretty smooth with some lights of sweetness.
Comes out great generally in cocktails.
Best by far, but I have not tried many blancos. It has a deep and flavourful taste compared to Brugal, Bacardi or even Havana 3yo. Great for cocktails. Might want to try it neat or on the rocks as well! Hard to describe its taste profile, but its a bit sweet.
It’s mainly a nose of strong alcohol.
"Initially it sips quite well and is reasonably smooth but it is has a very strong taste when swallowed."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My first White Rum rating and review. and what a Rum to be the first to begin with! as the main label states it is indeed Artisanal Rum. even though the nose is not hinting and far from being impressive, on the moment it hits the tongue and flows down further a plethora of depths is being exposed. i am writing this just after sipping El Dorado 12 and Havana Club Anejo Especial. of course i am not comparing these to each other as these are like apples and oranges, however stepping down from a real 12 year old run to a non age state suspected 5 y/o. the next step down to a white rum should be a traumatic experience. i did it on purpose as i wanted to have the memory of richer flavors on my tongue and mind, and indeed the 3 Stars Plantation succeeds to stand this unfair test mostly thanks to it's deepness of flavors. it's rather long finish, not expected from a typical white run.
as i read and learn that this Rum includes aged charcoal filtered rums it can make sense as this one is completely on different level of any white rum i tasted before and most of them were not worth much more than their volume as mixers. this one is definitely a sipper and of quite good quality, delivers a unique and different experience, it is Artisanal without any doubts and surely for me is a great introduction for future purchases from the Plantation brand. as for the price, around 20-23$ for a bottle it is really a great value for money. i would still prefer to keep it for occasional sipping and would not waste it as a mixer as many would do only due to the Rum colour issue.
Best White Rum i tasted so Far. Decided to Rank white rums based on a White run only scale, as this is a clearly Artisanal quality Rum it deserves much higher rating than the 7 i would give it compared to much more matured rums. so here is the reason for my high score of 9. and it deserves every bottle.
3.8.22 - Raising my rating to 10/10 this is the best white Rum by far compared even to aged rums.
1.10.22 - Another Bottle re-confirming that Plantation "3 Stars" is Louis XIV in beggars clothes
10/10 again.
