I was at my friends pirate party and among the pile of sh!t rum on the counter I saw this little guy wedged in the back, I couldn't believe it. Not like it's Appleton 50, but still I will add that to the list of life wins. Yeah it's pretty good, about what you expect in the price range The more you get cultured in rum you see this one isn't anything particularly special nor is it bad per say especially in it's price range. I keep saying "in it's price range" well honestly it works like this in rum. 10-20$ you get a vanilla-oak with molasses tasting rum, bonus points if it doesn't burn. Rums in this price range haven't been aged long enough to reveal any real distinctiveness. Because of this they also tend to be very harsh so even if you could hypothetically taste all that blhabalh your tongue is going to be preoccupied with the harsh burn. 20$-30$ you get this kind of rum, a stronger oak and better blend of vanilla and flavors. Here is when unique flavors start to pop their head out but rums around this range are still a little harsh and need to be diluted with some cola/rocks. $30+ it's all up to grabs but generally this is where you find the very distinct tasting rums.So anything in the range of 30$+ I am looking for a good sip and I hold the standards up higher to them. This don't make it. Taste value wise it's a generic $20 rum and at that point there are a few that beat it. Not bad but nothing flashy which is extremely important to me and what I base all my ratings on. I want a rum that has a distinct flavor, one that gives me that "you know I could really go for some Appleton 21 on the rocks right now". If it doesn't give me that impression than it most certainly is not a 10. This is average and forgettable, 7.

I love the smell of it. It's strong but you can even put your nose in the glass and smell it and it's not too intense and you can't smell the alcohol at all. It tastes good, a little sweet, with a full flavor. Good for sipping.

This rum is clearly not my type of rum. It’s sharpe and tastes cheap. I wanted to drink it pure, but went on drinking it with cola.

Better rums can easily be found in this price category.

Very nice rum, it is a little bit on the sweeter side with a bit less bite. But it is great.

This is not the first bottle of this stuff I’ve bought. It says a lot for me to buy a single bottle or rum more than once. It’s sweet but not overwhelmingly so. The oak/cedar notes are highlighted by a pleasing smokiness and the faintest fruity after taste. The only con is it does have some of that harsh “young alcohol” character in terms of smoothness, but easily forgiven by its bold flavors.

When people ask what rum tastes like, for some reason I think of this stuff, and it’s not even my favorite rum. Strongly recommend. And I like the traditional maritime style stout shape of the bottle

Diplomatico RE. V chuti dominuje karamel, oriešky a dym.

Great value for money. Drink it pure (or on the rocks). Comparable to Zacapa 23, but a bit less creamy and without the chocolate after taste. And less long in taste. But so much cheaper. If you are into slightly sweeter rums or less into oaky/Smokey rums, you should try this one.
