For me a go to drink during winter, warming with a toffee like flavour. I would never use a mixer with it, my view is a mixer is only used to hide a poor flavour and ice to kill any flavour.
Tasty smooth a great drink with ginger beer or on the rocks but works well with cola and a load of other drinks would recommend it 100%
This is a very dark rum, and has a nice smooth taste it. You can get a real Demerara taste. I found this on Amazon only Β£15, so an excellent bargain.
Would recommend
Lovely stuff. What I usually go for. Smoky taste full of molasses, brown sugar and treacle. Lovely neat but best with cola.
Had several glasses of this whilst working up in Scotland.....and thatβs what got me hooked on rum! So beware...this could be the slippery slope for you too!
A nice mixer, or on the rocks, but a little harsh and indistinct neat. I think as a demerara rum, it works well in cocktails too. A good one to have on the shelf!
I have been drinking Rum ( neat ) for just over a year now and my taste and appreciation keeps changing. I initially disliked this dark Rum very much, but........................... I have had it a few times now ( it is the main Rum that Pubs in my town stock) and have grown to really enjoy it as a sipper. Perfectly sweet, no a great diversity of flavours, but just a really honest, good value for money, Dark Rum.
being Scottish I had to try o.v.d it does have a strong smokey taste but is nice to drink.
Not as rich as Wood's but I'd prefere it to the Skipper's. As mentioned by Eigon, it could be a bit stronger which maybe would give it some more profile. But it is a good smoky Demerara with molasses and full aroma. Very good in cocktails, medium sipper...
Although it seems quite smooth it burns quite harshly.
"With cola it immediately frothβs up (as Navy rums often do) however, it doesnβt taste quite like a navy rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Exactly as good as I had hoped it would be. This classic dark Demerara rum with notes of toffee, molasses, and rubber is bottled in Scotland. Since there is no distribution here in the United States the shipping cost was twice that of the bottle price, yet I do not regret making the purchase.
