This is an infused rum. That being said, it’s flavor infusion is very different from anything I’ve had. Strong allspice through the nose with a crazy diversity in the mouth. Worth trying. I like collecting bottles from around the country, I. Glad I tried this one. However, if I was in the area, I’d try something else.

I bought this knowing next to nothing about rum. I liked the bottle and the fact that I'd be supporting a local MN distillery. That being said, looking back on my experience this rum, I can now say just how bad it actually is, especially for the price tag that it comes with.

The rum itself is very pale, and resembles rusty water. While it smells of cinnamon and nutmeg, you could definitely smell a bottom-shelf burn on the end of that flavor. The taste proved this thought -- it tastes like mediocre rum with spices used to cover it up.

While I'm loath to give a bad review to a local distillery, this simply wasn't good. But... 3 stars because mixed with coke it wasn’t terrible.

Saw this at a local store recently. Never heard of Nordic rum or Alander brand. Comes from Minnesota. The bottle is cool but hides a monster. I understand it is a spiced infused rum but the color is very weak. Looks like dirty tap water. The smell is very subtle and quite nice. The taste however is horrible. Understanding it is more than likely meant as a mixer, but it would take a lot of something else to mask the bitter, sour, and cleanser like taste of this rum. Stay away!

Brings back all the memories of drinking cheap rum until I puked. Tastes like Jose Cuervo tequila strained through an old coffee filter and sprinkled with spices - so slightly better than JC. Bought to support local effort, and don't want to discourage that, but expect to buy some mix for it if you take the risk. Not drinkable on its own.

Edit - Tried it with Coke. Still undrinkable. Rating edited to reflect same.
