By-product rum. Pretty sure the distillery is focusing on bourbon / whiskey but a spiced rum is a little quicker to make. They call it Dark, but it’s a fine line between spiced. It’s not bad though, good to support small distilleries. Just would let it sit longer in their ex-bo barrels and dial back to sugar.

Nose is so harsh. Ouch. Really should be more inviting. Taste slightly better

This distillery is apparently known more for their whiskeys and gins, and their dark rum is perhaps evidence of this. I mean, it’s decent enough, but it is a bit lighter in taste than I would like from a dark rum.
