Bought a bottle of this by mistake and have been struggling to finish it off. It has a very strong taste of butterscotch. Not very good for mixed drinks (unless you like the taste of butterscotch in your mixed drinks). As a sipper it's okay.
56% ABV. Very buttery nose. Toffee ice cream. Vanilla. Some char. Somewhat akin to a softer Lost Spirits. Very different initial taste. Hits the tongue harsh and dry before finishing on that buttery note. The finish is medium long.
Good for Mr. Tripp for offering this at cask strength (and skipping the whole "navy" marketing schtick). I'm just not a big fan of this flavor profile. Also, the mixed drinks offered at the distillery were pretty bad, so that may be influencing my lackluster rating.
Side-note, their vodkas (standard and lightly aged "red") are distilled from their rum!

Far too strong straight. Initially I thought it was not a good mix, but the more I tasted it, the better it became. Not great, but certainly not as bad as it was at first.
