Drank this for the first time while playing Newfie poker with me friends from the East by. Next ting I know! I'm sideways on the floor and me heads hurtin.

This rum can knock yer socks off!
Be careful landlovers, she can bring up quite a gail!

The Amber tones are like Amber. This is Old Sam's little brother only not as sweet and thick with less of a leathery finish. It would be better as an overproof, but its not offered without spices. While it's probably nothing like the original I keep grabbing it off the shelf.

Similar to Old Sam, drinking this makes you an honorary Newfoundlander. Good enough reason to drink it once.

I had to of enjoyed this rum it got me to kiss a cod.

This is a decent spirit all around. The color in the glass is nothing less than spectacular. The scent the excellence of this spirit is aware in the nosing and glass. This smoothness is amazingly apparent. The taste is quite flavorful. This is a great spirit I highly recommend this. Straight up no rocks.

It's ok it sneaks up on ya and give you a punch not for sipping

This is a reasonable rum and has very little sugar. Contrary to the name it is a Jamaican rum with a decent flavor and good as a mixed drink.

This rum is your standard for drinks. Sipping is a bit harsh. With Sprite it is sweet with a sweet finish. It is cheap enough for a Party rum.

molasses. dry.
i smell pepper and some notes of wood. very light. some fruit and some orange too.
i taste spice. some wood. some fruit. more fruit. pepper.
6/10. subtract 5 points if you don´t like dry rums!
it comes from jamaica. in the whole it reminds me of the goslings black seal. with a more fruity taste. too easy, too flat. okay for the money to mix your longdrink or cocktail!

Nothing stood out from screech. It just taste like rum. I didnt taste any other thing than alcohol , same with the smell wasn't bad but it didn't suprise we as well.

This was my go to Rum when I was first old enough to drink. There is always a bottle in my cabinet.

I like my rum Un the rocks, but was not impressed with my first drink of Screech. It seems to have a somewhat Metalocalypse flavor at first. However the more I drank the better it got. I will definitely drink it all, but it will probably end up in hot buttered rum

Canadian Rum.
Very tasty.. Good Rum to drink straight up.

I took a bottle or 2 to a reunion of retired Naval personnel, We had a plethora of Rums from many makers. Once the Screech was opened it seemed to disappear into thin air, and the other Rums were left untouched. It was so much smoother than the others and had such a much more satisfying taste that I had to go out and get more.

Realy good taste. You should try it. Don't suit everyone but I like it.

J ai été surpris. Bon petit rhum avec du cola. Pour le prix il est meilleur que bien d autre

Didn't enjoy the taste very much even mixing it with coke. Won't be buying this again

Rhum pas cher avec un gout de le Jamaïque. Rien d'épatant, doux,un petit gout de caramel, vanille et chêne. Idéale pour mixer avec du coke.

A Rum you have to try at least once! Quite a punch; not high on my list, but still in the cabinet.

This really isn't very sippable, so doing a shot is rather nasty. Drinkable if mixed, but not great.

Screech was the name Newfoundlanders called their home brew - this is much better stuff, I'm sure. It's in my cupboard now, alongside my favourite Old Sam Demerara (also marketed by the Newfoundland Liquor Corporation).

Sugar: 0 to 5 gpl. I was expecting it to be very harsh as it's normally given as a rite of passage or a dare. It's a decent rum with strong taste but not distasteful. Goes well with Coke and I have not tried it with anything else. I did give it a taste with no mix and went back to get some Coke and ice.

Having been to Newfoundland I had to give this a try so picked up a bottle while in Michigan. This rum is a blend with a Jamaican base that shines through without off flavors. It's surprisingly smooth, too. Considering the price point, about $19 US in Michigan, it's a fairly good buy. I tried this as usual: neat, neat with water, chilled and on the rocks. It held up wll for all four.
