This rum is described as 70% pot still from the Enmore distillery, but rather with a pot from the Enmore distillery, because this was closed in 1995. 30% comes from the column of D.D.L. This 10-year-old rum first ripens in bourbon barrels and finishes in porto and sherry Barrels previously used for Scottish whiskey. Bottled at 40% ABV.
An unadorned Demerara rum. Beautiful bright honey yellow amber in glass. No dyes.
In the nose unmistakable Guyana, this typical depth of a Demerara rum. Fresh rolls with cream candy, tropical fruits with caramel on freshly toasted oak, deep and heavy, yet light and airy.
The palate goes on with a flod of flavors , the scents are transformed into flavors. Fresh bread is back with a sweet port jam. Caramel, wood, resins and a large bowl of fruit salad join in. Wonderfully balanced.
In the finish very long-lasting, caramel with a little chili, white fruits with white pepper.
An ingenious Guayana rum for all who think the El Dorados are too sweet. 8+
