I’ve heard so many great things about this rum, and the exclusivity. From what I’ve read it can only be purchased upon exciting the country at the airport. I’m a huge fan on Centenario rums traveling Costa Rica a dozen times in the 80’s surfing and enjoying their early rums. I finally found this bottle on auction and likely over paid as someone else wanted it badly too. But justified as less cost than a trip to CR and it’s my Christmas gift. So now on to the rum.

Nice dark brown color, sweet smooth nectar with long lasting depth. I wish I had some 30 year old for a side by side but this puppy is great. This as close to a 10 as it gets. Bottle states 30 yeas Solara method that does not sound impressive, but whoever is selecting the barrels and blending is doing a superb job.

Round 2 immediately after 1st to confirm 1st tasting, that means it’s really good and I want some more. First I have to say this Fuente Don Carlos #2 has been perfect cigar for this Christmas 5 bottle tasting. A few puff’s in between rums to cleanse the pallet. 10 it is need to put on the top shelf to prevent drinking it all.

This was such a well balanced rum, I was giddy. We did a blind tasting, but knew there were some pretty high end contestants. It had such a great aroma, a little pecan sweetness and then the taste.

The first sip and swirl; I knew it was magic in a bottle. Caramel, nutty, a touch of oak and finished with vanilla. If it was ice cream, I would eat the whole container.

Only problem is I can't find it anywhere!

This is a Rum for me. Not too dry but not sweet either. Everything in balance. Only issue is the price and the fact that it is hard to find

Det er simpelthen bare en imponerende god rom, fantastisk dybde og smag der holde længe, havde der været en anelse højere alkohol pct havde den været perfekt

Very pleasant taste, fine, delicious. Due to price only for special occasions.

Very similar to Centenario 30y. Only in direct comparison I was able to distinguish that Real is little less sweet and has a little bit more fruity and complex taste. Still in TOP league of sweet rums but for almost double price vs the 30y I expected a bit more...

This is the best rum I’ve ever had. I tasted at the 9. Grf. Very, very good!

Balanced molasses, vanilla, oak with very light scotch whiskey burn. Good after notes. Good from first light aroma to the end of the bottle. More balanced than the 30 year old. This is my first 10 after 42 tries. It is now $190US coming in and $195US going out.

Long time was Centenario 30 the best rum I had and taste .
Smooth and taste are delicious . A little bit sweet but not too much and taste lake so smooth in your mouth that you must close your eyes to fully enjoy it .
But , then I taste Real and it's even better , just more delight and smooth.
