I have visited Guyana last year and loved the country. Had a chance to visit the El Dorado distillery and that was a great experience. This has nothing to do with the WM Cadenhead rum, but I have a very hard time relating this rum to anything I experienced in Guyana. What a rare bottle the WM Cadenhead Green Label 16 year old Demerera rum from Guyana was to find and what a massive disappointment. Smell is like rubber, color is pale with no legs at all, taste is pure alcohol and it will leave this punch of a burn for you at the end. WM Cadenhead rums are not for me, but if you like your rums dry, then go ahead and venture it out.
Beautiful straw color going on the light gold. At nose, we found some white fruits aromas like green apple and pear, very fresh nose. On the palate, same aroma with vegetal notes maybe floral notes. Alcool (46%) is present but it does not disturb the structure. Nice and long finish. Real rate = 7,5
